This wine with Denomination of Origin Catalunya is made exclusively with grapes from the Malvasía variety of Sitges.
Formerly, the winemakers Malvasía had a quarter of the arable land in Sitges. It is very possible that the Malvasia de Sitges had disappeared if it were not for Don Manuel Llopis i de Casades, who bequeathed to the Hospital de Sant Joan Bautista a vineyard in Aiguadol, of about 2 hectares, together with the family winery where this wine was made.
It is aged in chestnut barrels for 6 months.
This typical product from Catalonia offers a golden yellow color. It has a persistent and fine tear.
In the nose, floral aromas and touches of nuts stand out, contributed by the oxidation.
It is a fresh and fine wine at the palate.
A wine that can be reminiscent of Sherry wine.
