Cepas Viejas is a red wine with Denomination of Origin Bierzo, elaborated on the basis of the Mencía grape variety, coming from 60 year old vineyards .
The vines grow on slopes and terraces with gravel and iron slate soils, which favor the maturation of a fruit with a very thick pulp and low water content, a very positive characteristic for obtaining high quality wines.
The vintage and the selection of the grapes are exclusively made by hand.
It is grown in 100% French oak barrels for 9 months.
Cherry color with high layers.
In the nose, it offers initial nuances of leather which end up being integrated by aromas of red fruits, with slight nuances of black licorice and spices.
At the palate, it is a rich and spicy wine with touches of black fruits, chocolate and balsamic notes.
It is recommended to serve it at 18º C in a fine wine glasses.
